Description
This simulation is done with abaqus explicit solver. A wireless mouse is supposed to drop from a height of 1m and the duration of this process is 5ms. This simulation is mainly to research the possible damages during drop process. Mass scaling technique is used to reduce analysis time. During the analysis, Abaqus will implement mass scaling technique automatically at the discontinuous time points to assure the minimum time increment assigned by user. The model is constituted of a shell, a scroll wheel, a circuit board with electronic components and two buttons. The shell, buttons and scroll wheel are meshed with 10 nodes tetrahedral elements. The circuit board and the electronic components are meshed with hexahedral elements. The electronic components are modeled as rigid parts and tied with the circuit board.
